Patrick Wolf - ‘Time of my Life” (Hurts remix) - free download
Hurts have remixed “Time of my Life” from Patrick Wolf’s new album “Lupercalia.”
I love when a remix doesn’t totally destroy the original song, but still manages to give it a completely different spin. That’s exactly Hurts accomplish here. While the original track had a joyful sense of release to it, this one is much more intense, with some harsh beats and spooky, swirling vocal howls. I like how it turns the lyrical theme upside down. In Patrick’s version, you get the sense he really is “happy without you.” In this remix, he’s in denial and not “happy without you” at all. He’s pissed off and probably seeking revenge.
