music makes the people come together

So much new music…. so little time!

Lot’s of great stuff that I’m obsessed with lately (isn’t that always the case though?)…. here’s a bit of a round-up.

Three great EPs were released over the last two days. I just LOVE that 3-7 track EPs are so in vogue right now. A smaller album gives new artists a better chance to present a concise vision, with no filler, and less pressure than launching a full-length debut. None of these new EP’s have any filler. Here’s my detailed review of each one:

Florrie - “Experiments” = Incredibly Good.

Jessie and the Toy Boys - “Show me your Tan Lines” = Very Good.

Van Go Lion - “We Don’t Miss a Beat” = Extremely Good.

Darren Hayes released a 42 second preview of his new song “Talk Talk Talk” - and it’s sounds AH-MAY-ZING. It was Written by Darren Hayes and Carl Falk. Mixed by Robert Orton, mastered by Bob Ludwig. It comes out June 24th. So bloody excited. I may or may not have listened to this 42 seconds of music about 42 times today. Listen:

More tweets from Madonna’s Manager, Guy Oseary today. He agreed to answer 10 fan questions, and basically said a whole lot of nothing. However, he did confirm that Madonna will start recording her album next month. He wouldn’t give us any hints as to what it will sound like, or who the Queen will be working with :(

I am totally in love with the Nerina Pallot “The Year Of The Wolf” album right now. It just came out Monday. Thanks to my good friend Paul for introducing me to her, check out his wonderful review of the album on his page My Fizzy Pop. Here’s her video for the first single “Put Your Hands Up.” The video is so cute, and the song is breezy, uplifting, sexy, and shimmering. Perfect for summer love.
