Reloaded. Lady Gaga/ Rodney Jerkins aka Darkchild
Recorded during the Telephone sessions with Rodney Jerkins, Reloaded is probably my favorite unreleased Gaga track. It has a really fierce smoothness to it, and a sexy, relentless tempo. I love the lyrics and word-play (I need a real soldat, need you to reload it, bring it reloaded). I don’t even mind the Darkchild rap, in the same way I didn’t really mind the Akon rap in the middle of Just Dance, or Flo Rida in Starstruk. It does actually add to the song. The start of the middle eight/rap bit section is my favorite part, with Gaga wailing:
“Baby you can check for yourself
I promise any night, I’m gonna do you right
And I won’t complain unless your buggin’
Can’t handle my lovin, tonight, tonight, toni-i-i-i-ight”
Hahaha. A true lost masterpiece. Love love love. I’m a touch sad that Gaga seems to be completely moving away from that R&B/Urban tempo now. Although I love the electro-metal concoction that is Born This Way.
I’ve been listening to Born This Way constantly and plan on posting some tidbits about that soon. Things have been busy. Just got back from the Billboard awards and Kylie Minogue in Vegas on the weekend, and have some posts coming up about that too. Hope everyone is having a lovely spring!
I’ve been out of touch for a while, so please drop me some messages about new bands/music you’ve been enjoying recently. I want/need some new stuff to check out.
xoxo
