Lyyke Li - Sadness is a Blessing - Video.

Over the weekend, the second video from Lykke’s “Wounded Rhymes” album was quietly released. The clip was directed by Tarik Saleh, who also did Lykke’s last stunning video for “I Follow Rivers.” This video also features Swedish actor Stellan Skarsgard as Lykke’s dining compainion.

I love how Lykke Li’s videos always pose more questions than give answers. In this clip, Lykke steals all my best moves as she gets in a vodka shot face-off in the middle of a fancy restaurant, much to the horror of other onlooking patrons. Then she gets up and does a drunken sway-dance. It remains unclear as to who the older gentleman is. It’s all up to interpretation, which is quite refreshing in a time when most music video’s are all about shoving a point/theme right down your throat.
