Jeffery Straker - A Case Of You (Joni Mitchell cover).

“A Case Of You” is one of my favorite songs ever, definitely a top 20 favorite song of my WHOLE LIFE of loving music. It is perfection in so many ways, and has been covered and re-interpreted by so many notable artists. I’m happy to have added Jeffery’s version to my list. A quick look at my iTunes shows I have over 20 different covers of this song lol.

Joni Mitchell has obviously written some of the most clever and emotional songs mankind will ever know. Great songwriting defies genres, instruments, and production. Jeffery is an amazing songwriter himself and really understands how to cover a great song like this, staying true to the original but adding a bit of his own quirkiness and emotional experience. I love all the piano flourishes he brings to this version.

Fun fact: Jeffery recorded this on a Steinway grand piano that was Glenn Gould’s piano. He believes it has magical powers, and so do I.
